Call to Artists!

The Norfolk Library Foundation is excited to announce a project to add local artwork to the Norfolk Public Library. The goal of the project is to beautify the public space of the library, to support local artists, and to celebrate the spirit of the Elkhorn Valley.

Wall art of any medium is sought for the project (i.e. painting, fabric, metal-work, etc.) and the finished work will be hung on a sheetrock wall inside the building by the Community Meeting Rooms. Submissions can include a single piece or several pieces that interplay to create one work of art. Submissions must be the original work of the artist, must in some way connect to the spirit or identity of the past or present Elkhorn Valley, must be able to be completed and delivered to the library within 3 months of selection, and the artist must be located within northeast Nebraska.

The Norfolk Library Foundation will supply a stipend of $1,500 to the selected artist. Funding for this project was raised during the recent Norfolk Area Big Give.

The application with complete details can be found at http://bit.ly/NPLfdnart. Completed submissions must be returned to the Norfolk Library Foundation by August 16. Please contact Jessica Chamberlain at 402-844-2100 or jchamberlain@norfolkne.gov with any questions.
